Mara was amazing when she took pictures of my dogs. I think part of what makes her so good at capturing the souls of animals is that she is very patient and gentle. She also has the ability to know just when the dogs are in their own element and grabs unexpected shots. I have had a very difficult time picking just one shot that shows the essence of my dogs because there are just too many great pictures to choose from! I highly recommend Mara’s work. The souls of my dogs will be around for a long time because of Mara Casey.

A few years ago my little pug-dog Dillweed passed away. She died at the age of 12. It just about broke my heart. Something unexpected happened shortly thereafter. It was shocking how fast her memory began to fade. As months past I found that I had trouble recalling her specific expressions, her smile, her joy, and her limitless sense of humor. Very quickly I began to regret not taking better pictures of her. Volume was not the issue. I took tons of pictures over the years. The real trouble was the quality. My amateur photographic skills were revealed. All of my pictures were snapped at random times and were often of low quality, showing more shadows and red eyes than beautiful still moments of my doggy.Recently Mara took pictures of my new little pugs Moxie and Hobbs. Wow! This was a whole new world. I just loved the pictures. Now again something new and unexpected occurred me when I was viewing the shots for the first time. It's amazing to see what a professional artist can do. The personalities of my dogs just burst through! Hobbs, my little boy pug, looks happier than ever. They both just burst with life and joy in the pictures. I feel so luckily to have this moment in time persevered for many dog-years to come. I realize that part of life's journey is found in our ability to remember and in the joy those memories bring. Mara's obvious spiritual connection with dogs and her incredible artistic skill combine to create truly inspired canine photographs. I'll cherish mine forever. Thank you Mara. Mara's eye for capturing the essence of your dog is perfect. Ben and Zuzu loved her (and all the treats) and were happy to pose for the camera. She's madly in love with every animal she meets and I think that is the secret to seeing the soul of any animal. I'm so happy to have these wonderful, beautiful photographs.-Karen

The pictures that you took of Blu are soulful and special and really capture the essence of who she is. She's been sick...and knowing that I'll have these pictures forever has really made me feel better. They're already framed and plastered all over my walls. Mara- the shots you took of O.B. are GREAT! You caught her in many different moods and even showed us things we didn't know about her! One of your many strengths is actually working with the dog and making her feel comfortable (and she spooks easily), so that she shows you many sides of her personality. We highly recommend your work to anyone who's looking for "truthful" shots of their dog (not the usual dogstore posing nonsense). Thanks for taking all the time you did and thanks for the great shots!
